Planetary Health Promotion Intern


Jessica Amaya Torres is an intern at the Planetary Health Alliance. In this role, she primarily assists with communications.

Jessica is currently pursuing a B.A. in Public Health Studies at Johns Hopkins University. She has worked as a Health Advocate at East Baltimore Medical Center with Hopkins Community Connection, helping clients navigate essential resources and providing Spanish-language support. Prior to this, she led public health outreach efforts at the Latin American Youth Center’s Health Promotion Program, focusing on issues such as food insecurity and sexual health education.

Jessica is a QuestBridge, Gates, and Milken Scholar and has been recognized for her advocacy work on homelessness, including collaboration with The Washington Post. In her free time, she enjoys digital art and concertgoing.
