In collaboration with the PI and team members, the post doctoral fellow will conduct mixed-methods qualitative and quantitative research to develop a risk indexing tool that contributes to a deeper understanding of storm resilience for maritime freight nodes (i.e., ports). Higher incidence of natural disasters due to climate change will result in storm consequences that disrupt communities, ecosystems, and economies of trading partners both domestically and internationally. The Post Doc will help to develop and test a methodology to work with an expert group to select, weight, and aggregate indicators of climate risk across the 23 high and medium-use coastal ports in the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) North Atlantic Districts coastal inlets and navigation channels. The Post Doc will also work to advance other research projects under the direction of the PI.
