Luca Martinalli is a recently graduated medical doctor, alumnus of Ghislieri College, currently pursuing a master’s in international health policy at the London School of Economics.

After serving as the first campus ambassador from an Italian university in 2022 and 2023, he was appointed in 2024 as a next-generation representative of the Planetary Health Alliance. In these roles, he has dedicated his efforts to enhancing Planetary Health literacy within medical curricula in Italy and abroad. He launched Planetary Health NextGen, a global initiative aimed at identifying and empowering the next generation of leaders in Planetary Health, organized several talks, and co-organized the first-ever elective on Planetary Health at the University of Pavia.

Alongside his focus on planetary health, Luca has pursued cancer biomedical research at the University of Pavia, Cambridge University and Harvard Medical School. He aims to work at the intersection of oncology, public health and sustainability, recognizing the imperative for more sustainable healthcare systems and biotechnology industries to foster a healthier future.
