
Luís Gustavo Arruda holds a PhD in Biological Sciences (IB-USP, 2023) and defended his thesis titled “Public School and Protected Natural Area: Teachers’ Perspectives on Learning in a Natural Environment.” During his doctorate, funded by CAPES’ Academic Excellence Program scholarship, he participated in prominent initiatives such as the Conservation Fellow 2021 (ACEER Foundation), the Planetary Health Ambassadors 2022 (IEA-USP), and the Campus Ambassador 2023 (PHA). He co-authored books, including “Sustainabilities, Public Management, and School Gardens” (2020) and “Food Detectives” (2023), published scientific articles, and contributed chapters to e-books like “Growing Green Hearts” (PHA, 2024). He has presented papers at international conferences, most notably at the Minga por la Alforja Educativa (Argentina, 2023). He is a representative of the São Paulo Association of Environmental Managers in COMUSAN/SP (2020–2024) and actively collaborates with the São Paulo Food and Nutritional Security Observatory.
