Global Inventory of Planetary Health Courses

Undergraduate Degree

Educational opportunities with the “Undergraduate Degree” label are opportunities encompassing an entire university degree or program at the first level of higher education (usually after high school, for example). They are also sometimes called Baccalaureate degrees. Duration is usually 3-4 years. Registration with the university is required.

Graduate Degree

Educational opportunities with the “Graduate Degree” label are opportunities encompassing an entire university degree or program at the second level of higher education (usually after an undergraduate degree or baccalaureate degree). Duration is usually 1-2 years. They are more commonly referred to as Master’s degrees. Registration with the university is required.

Doctoral Degree

Educational opportunities with the “Doctoral Degree” label are opportunities encompassing an entire university degree or program at the third level of higher education (usually after a Master’s degree). They are also commonly referred to as PhD and involve an extensive research project. Duration is usually 3-5 years. Registration with the university is required.

Enrolled course

Educational opportunities with the “Enrolled course” label are courses offered in universities or other higher education institutions. Duration is usually 1 semester. Registration with the university is required and access might be limited to certain degree programs and other requirements. Contact the university academic advisor for more information.

Certificate

Educational opportunities with the “Certificate” label are open to most individuals seeking to improve their skills or knowledge in a certain area. They can take anywhere from a few hours to several months to complete. Registration in a university is not required but there might be a fee.

Open-Access Course

Educational opportunities with the “Open-Access Course” label are open to all individuals seeking to improve their skills or knowledge and are free to access. They can take anywhere from a few hours to several months to complete. Registration with a university is not required.
