Nicole (Nicky) Christensen is the Communications Manager with the Planetary Health Alliance. Her work is focused on generating awareness and mainstreaming insights and frameworks into public, policy, and private sectors. Her team disseminates groundbreaking research and curates fundamental resources with the active Planetary Health community.
Nicky’s career has been focused in the non-profit sector, cultivating connection through the creation and implementation of brand strategies encompassing print and digital media, design and photography, website management, and media relations.
At the nationally accredited Museum of Danish America, her work facilitated experiential education, cross-cultural and international exchange, and cultural heritage preservation while exploring diverse topics including prairie design and ecology, historic immigration narratives, art, and material culture. She has designed and edited multiple exhibitions, publications, and promotions for diverse and widespread venues.
Nicky received her degree from the University of Central Missouri in public relations and political science and has served on the board of the Iowa Museum Association and business and local communities with the Chamber of Commerce. In her personal practice, she takes bad photos on old cameras with expired film, on purpose.
