Recognizing the deep connections between human, animal, and environmental health, IDA integrates Planetary Health principles across its committees and activities, such as the Infectious Disease Policy Journal and global policy dialogues on AMR and climate-sensitive diseases. The Xheladin & Xhufe Morina Foundation (XHMF) and its Environmental Neuroscience Research Incubator (ENRI) advance planetary health by exploring how environmental stressors affect brain health, learning, and community well-being. We design and deliver science education programs, community monitoring projects, and data-driven tools that make the links between environmental conditions and mental health tangible for underserved communities. Through collaboration with the Planetary Health Alliance, we aim to share our community-engaged research models, learn from global peers, and contribute context-specific insights from the Balkans to the wider planetary health dialogue. Together, we hope to co-create scalable, youth-focused solutions that empower communities to build resilience and protect both human and planetary health.

We take a collaborative and evidence-based approach to our work in this space. Currently Vegan International is promoting a United Nations Convention Against Speciesism which would follow the UN Conventions Against Genocide, Torture, Eliminate Discrimination Against Women, and Rights of the Child. Norwegian Doctors for Planetary Health (Legenes klimaaksjon) is a network of engaged health care workers and students who believe a good environment is the ultimate key to good health. Zero Water Day Partnership is a NGO registered in Germany and works with national, European and international partners to promote action in the 5 areas of critical importance for humanity and the planet. ZWDP areas of work cover will feed into PHA networks and activities, including policy and advocacy with a focus on planetary and human health in all polices and youth engagement, a whole schools – whole community approach for environmental and social determinants of health education, and action by creating water walks in support of the ZWDP Saving the World’s Water Towers campaign.

Youth in Public Health is a youth-led organization committed to advancing planetary health through education, innovation, and community empowerment in Indonesia.
