We are conveners of municipal and local civic leaders and are experts in civic engagement and democracy innovation. However, we do not have content expertise when it comes to environmental sustainability and would like to learn from alliance staff and members when developing programming for our 2025 sustainability focus.

S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University Singapore is a graduate school and think-tank focusing on strategic studies and security affairs. Within the school, the Centre for Non-Traditional Security Studies examines issues such as climate security, biosecurity, and food security, among others. Planetary health is an emerging programme in the centre that aims to produce academic and policy research to bring together issues of climate, biodiversity, pollution, and health in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.

PHA’s efforts can be especially helpful in information sharing across members, particularly to keep up with the latest state of knowledge in Planetary Health. We would love to see more linking of members with funding opportunities to increase the scaling needed for global and local impact (this is likely something that our local partners could benefit from, and that we could support them in). Lastly, the current PHA member map is useful but PHA could examine additional ways to bring members together in more specific ways; for example, long-term we could envision the potential for applied science and learning experiences on the ground in settings where TNC and other PHA member institutions are working to solve locally-relevant challenges that require multi-sectoral collaboration.

We expect to collaborate with planetary health, contribute to environmental sustainability and human well-being through research, education, and community engagement, and align with the Sustainable Development Goals. We aim to share knowledge, strengthen interdisciplinary networks, and co-develop innovative solutions to advance global health and sustainability.

Youth Health Hub Indonesia (YHHI) is a youth organization focusing on health and environmental sustainability. They aim to promote planetary health and One Health principles in Indonesia. Being a part of the Planetary Health Alliance will enhance our access to planetary health-related networks that are interdisciplinary and multistakeholder, cutting-edge research and innovative community-centered solutions in planetary health, helping us to stay at the forefront of this rapidly evolving field. By learning from experienced mentors, joining planetary health workshops, and participating in planetary health activities or community programs.

Zenab for Women in Development addresses the impacts of climate change on food security and the health of local communities through its multi-dimensional grassroots programs, with a particular focus on women’s health, education, and empowerment. As a member of the Planetary Health Alliance, Zenab for Women in Development provides models for robust on-the-ground planetary health interventions, particularly those focused on agriculture and climate resilience.

Va Por La Tierra is committed to promoting the planetary approach to sustainability through membership with the Planetary Health Alliance. We emphasize this approach through education for sustainability; implementation of sustainable food knowledge; and forms and congresses to share experiences and knowledge of Planetary Health. We are eager to work with this community to strengthen climate planetary leadership.

Our mission is to support and encourage our students and staff to be leaders in addressing the UN sustainable development goals in whatever their field of practice. Our researchers, educators and students look forward to collaborating with, and contributing to, the PHA community.

Vital Strategies is a global health organization that believes every person should be protected by a strong public health system. Our programs reach into 73 countries and help prevent death and illness from noncommunicable disease, reduce harm caused by environmental factors, and support cities as engines for public health. Our Environmental Health division provides expertise and consultative services to address the global burden of environmental risks and harms including outdoor and household air pollution, safe drinking water and transportation.

WEAll (the Wellbeing Economy Alliance) is committed to promoting a global wellbeing economy that prioritises the health and wellbeing of people and the planet.

We recognise that to achieve a wellbeing economy, we need to address the core needs of people and the planet, which are Dignity, Purpose, Fairness, Justice, Participation, and Connection- especially to Nature.

We also recognise the critical link between Planetary Health and the design of the economic system. Therefore, we are committed to incorporating these core needs and planetary health principles and practices into our work.

As part of this commitment, we are excited to collaborate with the Planetary Health Alliance and its members to highlight the link between Planetary Health and the design of the economic system, share expertise, resources, and best practices, and work together towards social justice on a healthy planet.

The West African Academy of Public Health (also known as West African Institute of Public Health) is building cross-disciplinary and intersectoral partnerships in West Africa and beyond to explore the connections of the environment and human health. Through its public health programmes, research, training, and advocacy, it will initiate educational and research opportunities for interns, public health specialists, and faculty, along with other PHA members in West Africa, thereby bringing planetary health to the front burner of the policy domain.

WCS saves wildlife and wild places worldwide through science, conservation action, education, and inspiring people to value nature. Understanding that intact and functional ecosystems provide the infrastructure for all life, health, and well-being on our planet, WCS works to highlight the health co-benefits of conserving intact land- and seascapes, and the importance of planetary health research and one health approaches to address the existential crises of the Anthropocene.

We are trying to improve planetary health through decreasing wildlife crimes and illegal wildlife trade. We acknowledge that pathogens are translocated globally through illegal wildlife trade and that environmental degradation is a threat to planetary health.
We intent to improve the skills and knowledge in and around the fields of wildlife crime within the planetary health community.

Wildlife Health Australia (WHA) is the peak body for wildlife health in Australia. Our principal objectives are the protection and enhancement of the natural environment. We undertake research, investigate and monitor wildlife diseases in Australia.

WLPH addresses two systemic problems directly related to the SDGs: i) under-representation of women in leadership on issues of planetary health ii) and the dominance of businesses that disregard externalities causing dangerous environmental degradation. Both problems undermine key development and human health progress achieved in previous decades with a disproportionate impact on women. The WLPH digital community and capacity development hub breaks down borders and targets those who need it the most: women from the Global South. WPLH tackles inequality, discrimination and dangerous environmental degradation. We do this by offering an empowering network and mentoring program that is combined with specific planetary health scientific knowledge. These resources enable us to harness the untapped potential of smart and creative women that would benefit hugely from being a part of a collective that is respectful, shares knowledge and inspires women to lead with courage.

The vision of the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) Working Party on the Environment is healthy people, healthy communities and healthy ecosystems on a healthy planet. As a key partner in the Clinicians for Planetary Health initiative, the WONCA Working Party on the Environment collaborates with the Planetary Health Alliance in safeguarding our health and future generations through supporting family doctors and other clinicians in educating their patients, sharing best practices, and conducting broad public outreach.

Our organization is dedicated to advancing Planetary Health by integrating environmental sustainability with community health initiatives. We focus on environmental education, green infrastructure, and clean energy projects to improve public health and reduce our ecological footprint. By joining the Planetary Health Alliance, we aim to collaborate on research, share resources, and advocate for policies that address global health and environmental challenges. Together, we strive to create a healthier planet for all.

In 2013, the World Federation of Academic Institutions for Global Health (WFAIGH) was launched as a global platform for an academic voice to influence policies on health and global governance mechanisms, to promote methodological development and research, and to share good practices in capacity building and educational innovations.

At WFPHA, we understand that global health challenges need to be tackled through a multidisciplinary approach by enabling joint collaborations with all sectors while proving a strong commitment to planetary health. We firmly believe that coordinated action is necessary to prevent disease, promote health and protect people, as highlighted in WFPHA Global Charter for the Public’s Health. To succeed, it is key to consider the multifaceted natural context in which human beings live. We run activities with a special focus on environment via our environmental health working group.

Just as human health and cities are inextricably linked, cities and human civilization are inextricably linked to the health of the planet. Humans build cities, and almost all urbanization has resulted in ecosystem destruction, which in turn feeds back into human civilization in the form of climate crises, pandemics, and biosphere collapse. The impact of humanity on our planet and its ecosystems has become so inescapable and decisive that we call this century the Anthropocene.
