Salman Khan is a junior medical doctor based in Mumbai, India, with extensive experience in climate change and planetary health advocacy on local, national and international levels, reflecting his deep committment towards working for a healtheir future for the planet. Over the past seven years, Salman has been actively volunteering to address global public health challenges through leadership roles in the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA), including as the former Public Health Director and Liaison Officer for Public Health Issues. As a strong believer of Climate Justice and addressing intersections of Planetary Health with other health issues (including infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and non-communicable diseases), Salman has contributed to 3 national and international publications, represented medical students in multiple national and international events including the 28th UNFCCC Conference of Parties (COP28) in Dubai, the 60th SB meeting of the UNFCCC, 4 World Health Assemblies, and the 66th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and led multiple on-ground projects and advocacy initiatives in the grassroots. As a Planetary Health Next Gen Youth Council member, Salman is eager to collaborate with youth members, coalitions, and organizations worldwide to address planetary health challenges. He is passionate about fostering interdisciplinary approaches and driving innovative, youth-led solutions to build a healthier and more sustainable future.
