Athena Tian is a first-year undergraduate at Emory University interested in Data Science, Human Health, and Economics. Passionate about embracing innovation and technology to impact global and planetary health, Athena aspires to link health education with public policy and innovation.

Currently, she is a research assistant for Dr. Hyeokhyen Kwon in the groundbreaking ViTAL AI for Health Biomedical Informatics Lab. Athena aims to inspire planetary health conscience across all industrial sectors, building the foundations for a more sustainable world.

Previously, Athena was a freshwater zoonoses researcher and a two-time participant at the Johns Hopkins Global Health Leaders Conference where she explored how scientific knowledge cannot be impactful without policy and social change. Driven by equity and community leadership initiatives, Athena is eager to leverage the Planetary Health Campus Ambassadors program to learn more about the intersection of innovation, policy, and global health.
