Keep keyword strings simple and use between one and three terms. Think in generalized terms, rather than specifics to begin with.
Test your keywords! After your first search, review your results for where your keywords did (and did not!) appear. You may want to look at a few specific items from your results to see if there are other keywords you would like to search.
Most articles include keywords captured in our topic pages, which provide an excellent introduction to Planetary Health and research in the field.
The search bar defaults to boolean “AND” logic: it will return results that include two or more of your keywords as possible. If your results are “0,” try using fewer keywords. Complex search strings that combine different operators cannot be used in the search bar.
Having a hard time generating keyword searches? The filters used to limit results are based on Medical Subject Headings which make excellent search terms, and can be browsed here: https://www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/meshhome.html
