Drawing on his recent publication, “Connecting planetary boundaries and planetary health: a resilient and stable Earth system is crucial for human health,” Prof. Myers will explore how the destabilization of Earth’s natural systems is emerging as a defining global health crisis of our time.

Prof. Myers is Professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Founding Director of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Planetary Health and the Planetary Health Alliance. His research quantifies the human health impacts of climate change, biodiversity loss, ocean warming, and rising CO₂ levels.

This conversation will connect planetary boundaries directly to human wellbeing, and outline why protecting Earth systems is fundamental to protecting public health.
