Our Strategic Plan
Our Three-Year Strategic Plan (2026-2028) sets a bold vision for our future and will guide our programmatic decisions in the years to come. The Plan outlines our three core program areas: embedding Planetary Health in education, applying a Planetary Health lens to policy & governance, and movement building to activate the global community to achieve the Great Transition.
How Does the Plan Fit Together?
The three core program areas – Education, Policy & Governance, and Movement Building – and the three cross-cutting foundational pillars – Communications, Community Engagement, and Strong PHA Infrastructure – are deeply intertwined.
For example, Movement Building focuses on mobilizing the Planetary Health community and global audiences to generate the will for transformational change. Inspiring action requires appealing to individuals’ core values and faith traditions, as well as harnessing the arts to spark imagination and hope. This program area builds on robust Communications and Community Engagement initiatives (including Regional Hubs and NextGen leadership). It applies social and behavior-change science and organizing principles, to support Policy at all levels to advance Planetary Health. Education efforts ensure learners of all ages are familiar with Planetary Health and scholars provide the evidence to support change.
