2027 RISK Award: “Homes at Risk: Climate Resilience for Informal Settlements”

The RISK Award is a global disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation funding initiative jointly organised by the Munich Re Foundation and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). The 2027 edition focuses on strengthening climate resilience among vulnerable communities living in informal settlements, addressing increasing risks associated with extreme heat, flooding, storms, and other climate-related hazards. The award supports practical, community-based interventions that reduce disaster risks and improve adaptation capacity, making it highly relevant to planetary health approaches that connect environmental change, human wellbeing, and social vulnerability.
