Art in Motion, Nature in Mind
Mutual Reawakening, a women-led transdisciplinary collective, was founded to explore how art and lived wisdom can strengthen connections between human health and the natural world. Grounded in Planetary Health principles, the group emphasizes that true wellbeing arises when the nine essentials for health—air, water, food, shelter, energy, biodiversity, community, safety, and purpose—are honored and protected. Their flagship project, Thrive! Healthy People • Healthy Planet is a traveling photography exhibition created for healthcare institutions, celebrating nature’s gifts rather than emphasizing its crises. By offering beauty, reflection, and simple invitations to connect with the earth, Thrive! shows that nurturing planetary health and personal health are deeply intertwined.
By bringing art and nature into spaces like hospitals, Thrive! provides moments of restoration for patients, families, and staff, highlighting the reciprocity between caring for the earth and caring for ourselves. Thrive! is available in both the original format and a new portable banner edition featuring 45 photographs from 23 international artists. Mutual Reawakening envisions Thrive! traveling to healthcare systems worldwide. Learn more and bring Planetary Health art into your community.
