Dr. Jelena Malogajski is the Educational Manager with the Planetary Health Alliance. Her role involves actively contributing to the momentum of expanding and integrating Planetary Health curriculum into international medical, nursing, and public health education systems through the Planetary Health Expand initiative.

She has worked in academia for over ten years and has an extensive background in public health research and teaching, global health, curriculum development and evaluation, and unwavering commitment to health equity and human rights.

Jelena’s interest in global and planetary health has been heavily influenced not only
by her educational background, but also by her experience of having lived, and worked in the public health field, in three vastly different countries (Serbia, the Netherlands and the US). Prior to embarking on an academic career, she worked as a primary care practitioner, and a public health physician in Serbia.

Jelena received her medical degree from Belgrade University Medical School in Serbia, her MSc in Health Policy, Economics and Management, and a PhD in Public Health Genomics, from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
