Lisanne...
Lisanne Kouwenberg
2023 PHCA

Lisanne is a first-year PhD student at the Amsterdam Medical Center in the Netherlands. She is passionate about doing interdisciplinary research on the topic of environmental sustainability in healthcare. She studied Medicine and Health Economics and worked as a junior doctor during the pandemic. Afterwards, she used this experience to study the impact of the pandemic on the Dutch health system. Her current research focuses on ways to measure and lower the environmental footprint of healthcare delivery itself. We realize more and more that healthcare contributes to climate change, which is paradoxical since health systems will also be faced with the health and wellbeing consequences. As a former AIESEC student, she is a strong advocate for youth leadership programs.
