Luca Martinalli
2023 PHCA

Luca Martinalli is a fifth-year medical student at the University of Pavia, where he is a member of Ghislieri College. According to his deep interest in oncological and hematological innovation and global health, he is attending a biomedical research laboratory in Pavia, and he is trying to expand his knowledge of public, global and Planetary Health. In 2022, he was appointed as the first Planetary Health Campus Ambassador from an Italian university. During his time as a PHCA, he has worked to establish the foundation for the growth of Planetary Health in Pavia and throughout Italy by organizing conferences and launching Planetary Health NextGen, a hub of innovation for students worldwide interested in Planetary Health where young leaders share their experiences to inspire students to take action. He was also able to attend the Planetary Health Annual Meeting in Boston thanks to a travel scholarship. As a 2023 PHCA, he hopes to continue and build upon the work he has done as a 2022 Ambassador, working to integrate Planetary Health curricula into medical education throughout Italy.
