The Planetary Health Alliance’s partner network, the Johns Hopkins Institute for Planetary Health (JHIPH), has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to establish a Collaborating Centre on Planetary Health. This strategic partnership brings together PHA, JHIPH, and UNDP to strengthen research, implementation, and policy focused on the interconnected challenges of human health and global environmental change.
The collaboration will address urgent global challenges—including climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss, and health inequities—by promoting evidence-based solutions that center the needs and knowledge of communities most affected. By equipping governments and communities with actionable tools and strategies, this Collaborating Centre aims to drive transformative change and support a regenerative, livable future for all.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to innovative and integrated solutions that promote health, development, climate action, and environmental sustainability.
It is critical that Planetary Health research and practice is driven by and reaches those most affected by climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss and health inequities, so that communities and governments have the tools they need to create better futures for everyone, everywhere.
