Duaa Mohamed

Duaa Mohamed is a pharmacist, planetary health advocate, and health policy researcher working at the intersection of pharmaceutical systems, environmental health, and health equity. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy (Health) from the Mohamed Bin Rashid School of Government and a Master of Science in Healthcare Delivery from Arizona State University. Duaa is the founder of EcoRx, a circular pharmaceutical innovation initiative addressing pharmaceutical waste, environmental contamination, and equitable access to essential medicines. Through EcoRx, she advances circular economy models in healthcare that align environmental sustainability with public health outcomes.
She currently serves as a health policy researcher and non-resident research fellow at the Mohamed Bin Rashid School of Government, where her work focuses on environmental health, access to healthcare, mental health policy, and the integration of planetary health principles into health education and governance. Duaa was a Planetary Health Ambassador (2022–2023) and is a winner of the Planetary Health Challenge 2025 . She has also been selected as an Emirates Health Youth Sustainability Leader, highlighting her role in advancing youth-led sustainability initiatives within the UAE health sector. In addition, Duaa was selected for the Arts in Medicine Fellowship Program, where she worked at the intersection of art, health, and climate change, using creative and narrative approaches to support mental health, address eco-anxiety, and build community resilience, particularly among youth. She has also been recognized as an Arab Youth Pioneer under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for her leadership in sustainability and health systems innovation.
