Esmond Wedam Nonterah is a public health researcher with experience in climate health, mixed methods, population health, non-communicable diseases, implementation science, nutrition, and maternal and child health. They have worked on various projects at the Navrongo Health Research Center, including COVID-19 response, nutrition interventions, and health demographic surveillance, with a focus on promoting health equity and addressing environmental and health inequities.
Esmond holds a Masters degree in Population Studies from the Regional Institute of Population Studies, University of Ghana. They are currently a fellow of the Design Equity Action Leadership (DEAL) Fellowship Programme and was part of the 2024 Cohort for the West African Institute of Public Health.
Their vision for the Planetary Health West Africa Regional Hub is to foster collaborative research and capacity-building initiatives that address the intersection of human health, environmental sustainability, and climate change in West Africa. They aim to leverage their expertise in climate health, mixed methods, and implementation science to inform policy and practice, promote health equity, and support transformative solutions that protect the health of people and the planet.
