Outdoor air pollution, road traffic noise, and allostatic load in children aged 6–11 years: Evidence from six European cohorts. European Journal of Epidemiology.

This study explored whether exposure to air pollution and road traffic noise is linked to physiological stress in 919 children. Results suggest that higher exposure to air pollutants is a chronic stressor in early life.
