Sakura Chen is the Communications Intern at the Planetary Health Alliance, primarily focusing on disseminating health-related scientific and research articles to a specific audience through various digital platforms and editing the PHA monthly newsletter. Sakura is currently pursuing a Master's in Health Science and Public & Media Relations Communication at Johns Hopkins University, and she holds a Bachelor's in Communication Studies and Health Science from Northeastern University in Boston.

 
Prior to her role at PHA, Sakura gained experience as a Science Communications Intern at the Massachusetts General Hospital Research Institute and as a Communications Intern at the American Psychiatric Association. Her strategic approach involves advocating for improved health solutions for a wider audience, utilizing plain language to promote health research to specific target groups.

 
Growing up in various Asian cities has equipped Sakura with the ability to speak Mandarin, Japanese, and Cantonese fluently, in addition to English. Apart from her academic and professional pursuits, Sakura is a vlogger with her own channel where she shares pieces of school, work, and daily life. In her leisure time, Sakura enjoys exploring new sushi restaurants, kayaking, grocery shopping, and cooking.
