Planetary Health Working Groups

A new global metric for Planetary Health is being developed to provide country-level data to guide investments that promote balance across environmental, human, and societal health, with an emphasis on engaging policymakers and governance. The group identified key metrics and sought feedback to ensure the inclusion of diverse, credible, and actionable data. These data must meet specific criteria, including relevance, regular updates, accuracy, open-source availability, global comprehensiveness, and maximum disaggregation. The development process includes research, methodology refinement, data analysis, feedback integration, and rigorous internal consistency and validity checks. The goal is to create a metric that supports actionable outcomes for policy and education efforts.
