Planetary Health Working Groups

The Business Working Group is exploring the critical role of businesses in the Planetary Health landscape, recognizing both their contribution to current challenges and their potential to drive solutions. In the initial brainstorming session, participants identified key challenges for businesses, emphasizing the importance of regulations, supply chain literacy, and proactive leadership. Existing initiatives, such as the “Return on Value Leadership” program and a project on metrics for business, provide a foundation for action. The group’s goals include defining the enabling role of businesses in Planetary Health and building their capabilities to drive meaningful change. Future plans involve collaborating with regional hubs to gain diverse insights on business challenges. Additionally, the group aims to create a knowledge repository of best practices for businesses, potentially linking to education initiatives by using business case studies as educational resources.
