Arfa Shan is a Medical graduate from Fatima Medical University and House Officer at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan.

Arfa serves as a Steering Committee Member of the Planetary Health Alliance and Program Committee Member for the Planetary Health Annual Meeting 2025. She was a Travel Scholar Delegate at the Planetary Health Annual Meeting 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and have served as Planetary Health Campus Ambassador for two terms. She now contributes to the Communications Working Group of the Planetary Health Alliance Road map and Action Group plan.

Arfa is the Founder of Ferro Bars, a pioneering startup tackling the pressing issues of food waste and iron deficiency anemia in women and children in Pakistan. Through Ferro Bars, she has developed an innovative solution – iron-rich snack bar that utilises the surplus dates grown in Pakistan that would otherwise go to waste. This groundbreaking initiative aims to transform the lives of millions, particularly in Pakistan, where iron deficiency anemia is prevalent. Ferro Bars is selected for the esteemed Academy of Women Entrepreneurship program by the US Department of State and US Embassy.

As a passionate advocate for environmental health, Arfa also leads the Green Youth Moment Club, a Prime Minister’s Youth Program initiative. She launched the Smog Awareness Program to educate communities about smog’s devastating impact on human health, particularly respiratory and cardiovascular health.
