PHA’s Online Member Community is a free and inclusive virtual coordination space where Alliance Members can easily connect, sustain collaborations, and share “who’s doing what, where” in Planetary Health around the world!
The online community is hosted on the values-aligned platform “Hylo” and is accessible to all members of PHA. Users can easily find other changemakers according to geography, skills, and interests; share announcements, discussions, events, requests and offers; and start projects and groups to take action for Planetary Health!
About Hylo
Hylo is a community-led, prosocial coordination platform for purpose-driven groups. Unlike conventional social media focused on engagement metrics and advertising, Hylo provides tools specifically designed for collective action and meaningful collaboration. The platform is free, open-source, and built through deep partnership with communities working on regenerative agriculture, community resilience, and place-based organizing. Unique features, like nested groups and cross-group collaboration, enable broader coalitions to form around common goals. More than just technology, Hylo emphasizes the importance of trust, relationships, and human care in successful coordination. The platform prioritizes user privacy and data sovereignty while fostering genuine connection through transparent, ethical practices.
Getting Started
By joining Hylo, you’re participating in a fundamentally different approach to online community—one that puts Planetary Health and community flourishing at the center. Creating a Hylo account is simple: click the link below to join the PHA Hylo network. Follow the instructions to create an account and join PHA’s Online Member Community. Once you are accepted into PHA’s Main Hylo group (please allow 2 business days for your join request to be approved), you will be guided through a tour of how to use Hylo. You will also find a welcome message from the PHA Staff. This message includes tips for getting started, including step-by-step instructions on how to edit your profile, join groups, create posts/comments, along with information about your new PHA Membership and Community Guidelines.
