Communications Intern


Jussarang Lee is the Communications Intern at the Planetary Health Alliance. With a background in journalism and communication, she has experience working for humanitarian aid, diplomatic relations, and the private sector, bringing a cross-cultural and integrated perspective to Planetary Health communication activities.

Originally from South Korea and raised in the Philippines, Jussarang’s work has focused on supporting organizations achieve their goals through comprehensive communication strategies, including strategic messaging, content creation, branding, media relations, and digital communication. She began her career as a journalist in New York and later coordinated high-level diplomatic media events in Washington D.C. Her work with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) took her to MSF field sites around the world, gathering testimonials to emphasize the urgency of humanitarian medical aid. Most recently, she helped raise the global profile of a medical AI company dedicated to advancing cancer care through cutting-edge technology.

Jussarang holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Visual and Performing Arts from Handong Global University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Communication at Johns Hopkins University, specializing in health communication. Outside of work, Jussarang is interested in shaping clay on the pottery wheel into what she hopes will become her next favorite mug.
