PHUSE – the Swiss Network for Planetary Health Education – fosters the integration of Planetary Health into healthcare-centred study programmes across Switzerland. In line with the Planetary Health Alliance’s vision, the Swiss Universities-funded Initiative empowers students, educators, and professionals to advocate for and drive the socio-ecological transformation towards health equity within the planet’s ecological limits. PHUSE is currently developing a national Planetary Health curriculum for health students, as well as high-quality learning materials and, teach-the-teacher’ courses to enable transformative learning in health faculties across Switzerland.

Our organization advances Planetary Health by mobilizing and empowering young people worldwide to learn about, advocate for, and take action on the interconnected challenges facing human and environmental systems. Through youth clubs, awareness campaigns, educational events, global dialogues, and research initiatives, we work to build knowledge and leadership pathways for the next generation of Planetary Health advocates. We are committed to collaborating with members of the Planetary Health Alliance to enhance youth engagement, strengthen interdisciplinary research, and expand the Alliance’s geographical reach by connecting with new members and communities. By linking young leaders with the broader Alliance community, we aim to cultivate a diverse and globally connected movement advancing Planetary Health for people and the planet.

Società Selvatica is a small non-profit association that organizes nature connection activities. It is registered in Italy as part of RUNTS (Registry of Third Sector Organizations). It collaborates with other institutions, especially the University of Padua (www.unipd.it/en). With multiple departments of this highly prestigious partner – the TESAF Forestry department in particular – and other organizations, it has offered to the public 3 editions of “Cansiglio InVita” (www.cansiglioinvita.it), a nature connection festival in the renowned Cansiglio forest, located in the Veneto region of Italy (1h15 from Venice). The second edition of the festival was focused on the “One Health” vision, while the third edition, held in 2025, was focused on Planetary Health, with a scientific conference and 3 additional days of nature-based activities in the forest (Forest Bathing walks and other activities). Besides this, the association has partnered with an Italian tour operator called Ivy Tour to offer Forest Bathing and nature connection retreats.

The association, whose main goal is to promote nature connection and scientific dissemination, intends to organize more events in the future to raise awareness about Planetary Health. A training project related to Planetary Health is also in the works. Both the events and the training program could involve people from other PHA member organizations.

What we hope to get from the Alliance: networking opportunities, visibility, information and resources on Planetary Health. We will welcome any opportunity to engage with other member organizations and possibly devise joint projects to opt for EU funding or other sources of funds.

Our organization integrates Planetary Health principles into its work by promoting evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine approaches that recognize the interdependence of human health, environmental sustainability, and social systems. We emphasize prevention-focused care, sustainable nutrition, physical activity, and low-carbon health practices across clinical services, education, and policy engagement. Through collaboration with the Planetary Health community and PALM, we aim to align research, advocacy, and capacity-building efforts to advance resilient health systems. We look forward to contributing expertise while learning from global and regional partners to accelerate action at the intersection of health and the environment

The Medical Alliance Against Climate Change is committed to institutional collaboration with the Planetary Health Alliance, specifically focused on the environmental impact on human health.

According to Spanish health authorities, more than one million medical consultations are given in Spain every day. There is evidence that medical advice enjoys high social credibility and a high degree of adherence.
Furthermore, the WHO has declared climate change to be the greatest threat to human health in the coming decades.
The joint collaboration between our organization and the PHA to disseminate information about climate risks to human health will be enriching for both through joint projects and the exchange of experiences.

Istanbul Nişantaşı University Faculty of Medicine integrates Planetary Health into its educational, research, and community engagement activities by embedding environmental determinants of health into the medical curriculum, advancing research on climate-related cardiometabolic diseases, and implementing community-based prevention initiatives. Through sustainable digital education models and interdisciplinary collaboration, we aim to train physicians who recognize the interdependence between human health and planetary systems. As a member of the Planetary Health Alliance, we seek to actively collaborate on curriculum development, multicenter research, and student engagement initiatives, while contributing regional perspectives from Türkiye and the Eastern Mediterranean. We are committed to fostering academic partnerships and serving as a regional hub to strengthen global efforts toward sustainable and prevention-oriented healthcare systems.

The Canadian Youth Climate Action Team (CYCAT) is proud to collaborate with the Planetary Health Alliance to help advance our shared vision of a healthy planet. By joining the Planetary Health Alliance, CYCAT commits to continuing to push forward Planetary Health through our events, initiatives, and advocacy. We hope to collaborate with member organizations in the Planetary Health Alliance to further advance Planetary Health and amplify youth-led climate leadership. By working together, we aim to promote systemic solutions that safeguard the Earth’s future.

GoodPlanet Belgium integrates Planetary Health principles into its environmental education, school greening, and community transition programmes by explicitly linking ecosystem integrity, climate action, biodiversity restoration, and sustainable food systems to human health and well-being. Through large-scale engagement with schools, youth, and organisations across Belgium, we translate scientific knowledge into practical, measurable actions that strengthen both ecological resilience and community health outcomes. By joining the Planetary Health Alliance, we aim to collaborate with researchers, educators, and practitioners to co-develop evidence-based educational tools, advance shared impact metrics, and contribute implementation expertise from the NGO and school sectors. We are committed to fostering cross-sector partnerships and youth engagement initiatives that operationalise Planetary Health locally while contributing to global learning and collective impact.

The Youth Platform for Sustainability (PTS) is a youth-led organization in Romania working to strengthen climate, environmental, and social resilience through credible participation and evidence-informed public engagement. We act as a bridge between youth communities and decision-making systems, convening young people, scientists, educators, and public institutions, and translating that work into usable outputs such as analyses, practical plans, and public-facing reports. PTS builds collaboration by connecting complementary expertise and ensuring youth participation is representative, safe, and accountable. Through the Planetary Health Alliance, we will contribute insights from Romania and Central and Eastern Europe while building global partnerships across the Alliance to exchange practice, co-develop pilots and tools, and support real-world implementation in diverse contexts.

Yuvam Dünya integrates Planetary Health into its work by advancing climate and health education, strengthening health system resilience, and fostering cross-sector collaboration between academia, civil society, and policymakers. Through initiatives such as the Climate Clinic, developed in partnership with leading medical faculties in Türkiye, we build the capacity of health professionals and students to address the health impacts of climate change using a systems-based and evidence-informed approach. We also design youth-focused and community-based programs that connect biodiversity, ecosystem services, and public health within a One Health framework. As a member of the Planetary Health Alliance, we aim to collaborate on research, curriculum development, advocacy, and regional knowledge-sharing to accelerate equitable and science-based climate action for human and planetary well-being.

The Climate & Health Youth Network integrates Planetary Health by addressing the interconnected impacts of climate change on human health, ecosystems, and social equity through youth-led research, advocacy, and community action in Zambia. Our work advances climate-resilient and gender-responsive health systems, climate-sensitive disease prevention, mental well-being, and evidence-based policy engagement with strong youth inclusion. Through the Planetary Health Alliance, we aim to collaborate with regional and global partners to co-produce knowledge, share youth-driven innovations, contribute community-based data and insights, and amplify Global South perspectives in shaping locally grounded and globally relevant Planetary Health solutions.

The Institute of Planetary Survival for Sustainable Well-being (PLANETIIUM), IIUM, integrates Planetary Health principles into its work by addressing the interconnected challenges of biodiversity, food security, climate change, and human health. Through initiatives in these four pillars, we promote holistic well-being for both people and the planet. By joining the Planetary Health Alliance, we aim to collaborate with global members through knowledge exchange, joint research projects, and interdisciplinary mentorship. We look forward to contributing our expertise and learning from the Alliance community to advance evidence-based solutions for planetary health.

Marine@UGent integrates Planetary Health principles by advancing interdisciplinary marine and maritime research that links ocean ecosystem integrity, pollution, climate change, and sustainable blue food systems to human health and well-being. Through state-of-the-art research infrastructure and strong collaboration across disciplines, Marine@UGent translates environmental knowledge into solutions relevant for policy, industry, and society. As a member of the Planetary Health Alliance, Marine@UGent aims to actively collaborate with partners by contributing marine and coastal expertise to joint research, education, and capacity-building initiatives. Marine@UGent is committed to knowledge exchange and global collaboration to ensure that ocean health is recognized and addressed as a cornerstone of Planetary Health.

The European Medical Students’ Association (EMSA) integrates Planetary Health into its work through climate and health education, student-led awareness initiatives, evidence-based advocacy, and the promotion of sustainable practices within medical education. EMSA engages medical students across Europe through initiatives that encourage individual responsibility while also supporting broader institutional change. In collaboration with partners, EMSA contributes to policy-oriented work and strengthens student advocacy around planetary health and climate change preparedness. As a member of the Planetary Health Alliance, EMSA aims to share student perspectives, participate in joint educational and advocacy initiatives, and actively contribute to knowledge exchange within the global Planetary Health community.

The ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD), Mahidol University, incorporates Planetary Health into its research, education, and policy engagement by addressing the health impacts of climate change, environmental degradation, and cumulative environmental exposures in Southeast Asia. AIHD advances systems-based and applied approaches, including environmental risk management, nature-based solutions, and environmental surveillance, to generate co-benefits for human and ecosystem health. Through the Planetary Health Alliance, AIHD seeks to collaborate with global partners to share regionally grounded evidence, co-develop interdisciplinary research, and strengthen capacity building in exposure-intensive and low- and middle-income settings. AIHD is committed to contributing Southeast Asian perspectives to collective advocacy and to translating Planetary Health knowledge into actionable, policy-relevant solutions.

The Institute for a Sustainable Earth (ISE) works to catalyze transdisciplinary, impact-driven research, education and practice in support of advancing a just, prosperous, and sustainable world. Sitting at the university level, ISE functions as a gateway for and bridge between the university community and its wealth of knowledge, capacity, and lived experiences, and our external local, national and global partners working across the sustainable development, climate resilience, health and wellbeing, peace and conflict domains, and beyond. ISE cultivates and facilitates transdisciplinary communities of research and practice (CORPs) that bring these different partners together to build and leverage their complementary capacities for transformative impact in society.

ISE is committed to working with the PHA and its global membership network to help generate an active culture of high-impact, community engaged transdisciplinary scholarship, education and practice in planetary health and related fields at George Mason University and beyond.

Alliance santé planétaire Suisse, founded in 2024 by swiss health professionals, works to advance public and planetary health through citizen mobilization, education, public awareness, and the development of sustainable healthcare practices. In the coming years, Alliance santé planétaire Suisse aims to strengthen its influence in local political debates, contribute to community and planetary health research, and act as a strong advocate for public health protection. Through collaboration with the Planetary Health Alliance, the organization seeks to expand its network, share resources and experiences, and actively contribute to the global planetary health community through knowledge exchange and participation in conferences and meetings.

The School of Medicine at Perdana University integrates Planetary Health principles across its medical and public health education, research, and community engagement by explicitly addressing the links between environmental change, climate risks, and human health. The School advances Planetary Health through interdisciplinary teaching, applied research on climate- and environment-related health challenges, and policy-oriented scholarship relevant to Malaysia and the ASEAN region. As a member of the Planetary Health Alliance, the School seeks to collaborate with global partners on curriculum co-development, multi-country research, and capacity-building initiatives, particularly in low- and middle-income settings. Through active participation in Alliance working groups and regional networks, the School aims to contribute Southeast Asian perspectives, strengthen evidence-informed policy engagement, and support the collective advancement of Planetary Health worldwide.

Istanbul Atlas University integrates Planetary Health principles into its education, research, and community engagement by addressing the links between human health, environmental change, and sustainable healthcare. The University has incorporated Planetary Health perspectives into curricula, interdisciplinary research, and international academic activities, including Planetary Health conferences organized in collaboration with the University of Minnesota. Through Planetary Health Alliance membership, Istanbul Atlas University aims to collaborate on joint research, education, and capacity-building initiatives and to contribute regional expertise to the global Planetary Health community.

One Health is a transversal principle at Sciensano, providing an integrated approach to balance and optimise the health of people, animals and the environment. The role of healthy ecosystems in One Health in terms of ‘prevention at source’, provides a strong link with Planetary Health.
Increasing societal and professional literacy on One Health facilitates uptake of preventive measures. As a member of the broad, cross-sectoral and transdisciplinary network of the Planetary Health Alliance, we build on and contribute to its expertise in ecosystem health and knowledge translation.
