Through its work, Jhpiego, a Johns Hopkins University affiliate, has considered the impact of climate in its calculus of lifesaving interventions, including investing in community health workers, championing strengthened primary health care systems, and using new service delivery models, technology, and early surveillance and detection programs in its health care projects around the world. Our association with PHA will allow us to strengthen our approaches, deepen our impact and make a meaningful difference to the lives of mothers and babies.

JSI / JSI R&T has worked at the intersections of environmental health, population/reproductive health, water and sanitation and healthy communities throughout its 40-year history and we are dedicated to realizing the most effective programming by bringing in the knowledge and experience of peer organizations working in academia, research, policy and implementation. IDHA’s work is intrinsically committed to Planetary Health, and the sustainable use of biological diversity across the multiple aspects comprised in the conceptualization of Indigenous health: an equilibrium of spirituality, traditional medicine, biodiversity, and the interconnectedness of all that exists. The IDHA conducts research, technical assistance, and advocacy activities to incorporate structural and systemic changes for Indigenous Peoples to be equitably served, their knowledge and practices, and rights to be respected, and to ensure sustainability for the planet’s health and wellness.

Indigenous Health Solutions is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Planetary Health Alliance to integrate Planetary Health principles into our inclusive development work. The Community Check-Up is a national organization focused on restructuring the climate crisis as a public health emergency through educational outreach and youth engagement. The Community Check-Up hopes to collaborate with the Planetary Health Alliance by encouraging youth we engage to join the Next Generation Network. In addition to this, the organization focuses on integration of planetary and environmental curricula in its community seminars, and it plans to collaborate with PHA by co-hosting workshops and events. The Community Check-Up will assist PHA in translating and adapting resources into various languages to be applied in different contexts.

Instituto Ideia Ambiental is dedicated to fostering Planetary Health at the local level by helping humanity recognize that our health is intrinsically dependent on our harmonious relationship with the natural environment. We acknowledge that while we often inhabit built environments, we must recognize the interconnectedness of our intrapersonal, interpersonal, and natural environments. Our mission is to promote the integration of these environments as a fundamental step towards overcoming the Anthropocene era, which is characterized by humanity’s disconnection from these vital spheres.

At Intake, our aim is to explicitly reflect the connections between agriculture, nutrition, and the environment in how we undertake our work and in the set of tools we develop to have the greatest sustained impact for both human and Planetary Health. We aim to empower primary care to transition to environmentally sustainable healthcare through a useful hub of information and resources for UK primary care and the development of local groups. Greenish is an Egyptian Foundation founded in 2017, with a vision to improve the health and wellbeing of residents in the region. Greenish works to develop environmental balance through environmental Research, Advocacy, Capacity Building and Education (RACE). Our projects cover a multitude of aspects to promote planetary health through preserving and protecting natural systems and the interconnections with the health and well-being of all living things. Greenish aims to add to the ongoing work on planetary health through inclusive and meaningful multi-stakeholder, multi-generational dialogue rooted in localized knowledge and action.

Healthy Energy Initiative India is a program of The Other Media in collaboration with Health Care Without Harm. HEI India works in the area of Climate and Health by mobilizing communities and health professionals to advocate for environmental health, clean air and clean energy. Our work focuses on providing legal, media and scientific research support to the residents of polluted communities and workers exposed to toxic chemicals. By working closely with the health departments of the sub-national regions of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Chhattisgarh, we focus on developing climate and environmental health policies and building health systems resilient to climate change, health research and action on air pollution. Planetary Health Alliance provides us with a wider opportunity to take our work to a global platform and help amplify the deep interconnections between health of the people and planet. Backed by the best available science and technical expertise, Helen Keller teams work with local partners across 14 countries of sub-Saharan Africa and 4 countries of South Asia and the Pacific to tackle malnutrition, neglected tropical diseases, and preventable blindness. We target health problems that disproportionally affect the world’s most vulnerable. Our Enhanced Homestead Food Production supports households to develop diversified plant and animal production systems to contribute to family health, but also uses techniques that enhance soils and habitat. The model has been evolving with new evidence over 30 years, and we are currently working to adapt it to be further regenerative of Planetary Health. Our neglected tropical disease program focuses largely on mass drug administration and we hope to engage more with prevention through understanding and mitigating environmental changes that drive vectors into contact with humans.

Seated at the crossroads of public health, the environment, and higher education, Herbicide-Free Campus (HFC) inspires university students to challenge the status quo and take action against practices harming both human and environmental health. Committed to ending our dependencies on synthetic herbicides and building a culture around safe and viable alternatives, HFC trains holistic environmental leaders to engage in direct action and community organizing on their campuses, in their communities, and across the nation. Integrating a Planetary Health approach, HFC strives to shift the way we manage landscapes, tend to the soil, and value the health of both the people and the planet alike.
