Our extension project, ‘Promoting Planetary Health in the context of Integrated Environmental Primary Care and Primary Health Care,’ exemplifies our practical approach to Planetary Health. Institute of Science Tokyo aims to strengthen and promote research and other activities in planetary health science through collaboration with institutions around the world. The Institute also promotes the field by training leaders in the field of medicine and public health who are capable of formulating new initiatives in planetary health science as well as informing health professionals in Japan and overseas about reliable scientific evidence.

The Sense of Silence Foundation aims at providing environmentally responsible technical solutions to monitor biodiversity worldwide and help restoring damaged habitat. Created in the deep-ocean, this technology has expanded from the floated rainforest to extreme polar conditions, facing the challenge of giving back a balance to Nature through the analysis of its sounds. Sharing with the Planetary Health Alliance what probably represents the largest bioacoustics Big Data in the world contributes to create a scientific communication channel between human health experts and biodiversity conservation needs.

The Plantrician Project educates, equips and empowers today’s healthcare professionals with knowledge of the indisputable benefits of whole food plant-based eating for human and Planetary Health. Evidence demonstrates that plant-based nutrition is a leading opportunity for solving today’s greatest health and environmental challenges. Through education programs, materials and partnerships, we’ve grown a global community of healthcare professionals capable of supporting their patients’ shift toward plant-forward lifestyles, thereby exponentially impacting their communities and the future of healthcare. We have a network of resources and education opportunities to connect to the Planetary Health Alliance network members to help leaders gain knowledge and tools to better understand and promote plant-based nutrition for global health. We are a ready partner to collaborate, co-present, and connect speakers for educational events focused on the interconnected role of food, health and environmental health.

Our Bavarian school incorporates planetary health in all its departments, such as lessons in various subjects while collaborating across courses, providing a diverse network of mental health support structures, implementing sustainable options wherever possible and thereby educating young adults in a way that helps them and our planet to deal with Planetary Health issues.

The Time + Tide Foundation initiates social and environmental projects in protected Southern African ecosystems. As a member of the Planetary Health Alliance, we hope to contribute to international research and policy discussions on the ways in which biodiversity conservation affects the perceived and actual human health challenges of protected area residents.

Transition Earth aims to increase awareness of the effects of population growth and unsustainable resource use on people and the planet. Transition Earth contributes to the mission and work of the Planetary Health Alliance by effectively highlighting the connections between conservation, health, rights and development issues and showcasing successful initiatives in this arena through education, advocacy, and storytelling.

Tree Uganda Academy (TUA) is dedicated to environmental stewardship in Uganda through building the capacity of local communities and unleashing access to essential ecosystem services to better enable local communities’ participation in planetary problem solving. As a member of PHA, we commit to contribute to PHA’s research related to Planetary Health, Climate change and Community empowerment as well as advocacy for Climate Justice. Moreover we shall increase the PHA’s visibility through our awareness creation campaigns and sharing news letters across our networks and social media platforms.

As a member of the Planetary Health Alliance, FSPH will encourage student and faculty engagement with educational, research, and networking opportunities in the field of planetary health.

UCSF’s Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS) is a pioneer and innovator in academic global heath, with a deep commitment to improving the health of marginalized communities. In the climate and health space, IGHS works with low- and middle-income countries to drive innovation in the health sector’s response to climate change to build greater resilience to and minimize the negative health impacts of climate change. IGHS has over two decades of experience in landscaping and assessing innovative financing strategies for a number of global health areas including HIV, malaria and TB, and supporting resource mobilization efforts for emerging health sector priorities.

By joining the Planetary Health Alliance, UNITE is hoping to bring its 300 plus network of parliamentarians closer to the topic of Planetary Health, and its concerning issues, to enable them to express their views, inputs and experience in a productive and constructive manner, and understand how can they make use of their position as policymakers to advance laws and regulations on Planetary Health. Within our parliamentary network, UNITE intends to be a catalyser of content between the PHA and our members, and to spread the Planetary Health Alliance’s message and actions, connecting it with other relevant partners on global health.

The United Nations Youth Association of Denmark is a youth-led organisation aiming to raise awareness about the most urging global challenges and promote youth participation. Recognising the importance of a healthy planet and the impact of the state of the environment on human health is fundamental. We, UNYA Denmark, promise to continuously empower young people to take action and contribute to creating a healthy, resilient, and sustainable society.

The Department of Global Health Policy (GHP) at the University of Tokyo conducts research of global health significance. As an active member of the Planetary Health Alliance, the GHP encourages student and faculty involvement in Planetary Health events and projects. The collaborative works of GHP with the planetary health community in research and education addresses global environmental, and health challenges.

The Virsa Foundation, Inc. is a 501c3 MA nonprofit which promotes the awareness of various intersectional issues pertaining to public and planetary health via behavioral research, coalitioning & campaigning for policy change and by creating multimedia advocacy content, especially for BIPOC communities in the United States, South Asia and elsewhere in the Global South. We invite collaborations with the planetary health community in the form of networking, advisory support and funding opportunities for behavioral research.
