The National Academy of Medicine, with its membership that includes some of the biggest names in science and national medicine, joins the Planetary Health Alliance to collaborate primarily in disseminating knowledge and monitoring the effects of climate and planetary changes on the human health. Through its scientific events, publications and the wide reach of its actions in Brazil, the National Academy of Medicine will act as a disseminator of true scientific information and in the interface with the Brazilian population and Latin America as a whole.

The National Cheng Kung University aids global health professionals in improving the health and well-being of the general public through teaching, research, and service. The objectives include: 1) to cultivate global health professionals who have theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and enthusiasm; 2) to establish an international academic research community through the creation and dissemination of public health knowledge; 3) to participate in global health issues, and to promote a sound, integrated public health system.

The mission of National Malaria Elimination Program under Disease Control Division of Directorate General of Health Services, Mohakhali, Dhaka is to achieve the malaria free status within 2030 which will increase the well being of the human being of malaria endemic zones. It will be aligned with the Planetary Health Alliance.

Members are guided by naturopathic principles, and join NEST as an act of service to the wider world.

Nordson Green Earth Foundation strives to improve tree equity by establishing tiny native forests and other greenspaces in the Chicagoland area–because we feel all communities deserve trees and the health, climate and social benefits they provide. Our projects use only native species which encourages natural ecology and biodiversity. In addition, our forests (by way of the Miyawaki method for native urban forest planting) reach maturity in a few decades as opposed to a few centuries. For this reason, they are a timely solution that can combat heat island and flooding effects as well as boost mental health in areas historically excluded from green infrastructure investments. We aim to collaborate with the Planetary Health community by sharing knowledge and gaining wisdom about rewilding methodology, greenspace creation and community engagement around climate action.

By permanently protecting wild forests and waters, Northeast Wilderness Trust is working towards a world of vitality, abundance, and resilience in both natural and human communities. This work is primarily achieved through wilderness conservation and stewardship but also includes: local, regional, and global partnerships; outreach and media; on-the-ground community engagement; and relationships with research teams. The Wilderness Trust looks forward to collaborating with the Planetary Health Alliance community to further the role of wilderness as an essential ingredient to the health and happiness of human and more-than-human beings, in our region and beyond.

The University of Nottingham School of Health Sciences works to incorporate the planetary health framework into curricula for healthcare professionals. As a member of the Planetary Health Alliance, the UoN School of Health Sciences collaborates in developing resources for the planetary health education platform and helps to spread awareness of planetary health, particularly among nursing and sustainability networks in the United Kingdom.

Housed at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C., the O’Neill Institute reflects the importance of public and private law in health policy analysis. The O’Neill Institute draws upon the University’s considerable intellectual resources, including the School of Nursing & Health Studies, School of Medicine, the Public Policy Institute, and the Kennedy Institute of Ethics.

OAPTAR is the only organization in Malaysia that does evidence-based prevention interventions for the healthy development of children and young people and for the wellbeing of families and communities. Our work is informed by developmental epidemiology, transactional and ecological factors that affect the healthy development of young people through out their developmental stages.

Our interventions reduce risk factors and promote protective factors at micro and macro levels of influence. The focus of our intervention is the whole person and includes social-emotional competencies, resilience and mental wellbeing.

The impact of climate change, environmental degradation, pollution, rapid development and loss of greenspaces and biodiversity affects mental health and general wellbeing.

By joining the Planetary Health Alliance, we aim to mainstream planetary health and advocate for policies and legislation that embeds planetary health practices into the private and public sectors. We look forward to dialogue and collaborations with PHA members.

Malaria No More envisions a world where no one dies of a mosquito bite. More than a decade into or mission, our work has contributed to historic progress toward this goal. Now, we’re mobilizing the political commitment, funding, and innovation required to achieve what would be on of the greatest humanitarian accomplishments – ending malaria within our generation.

To do that, we need to look outside infectious disease interventions only. Climate change is harming the world’s health more rapidly and severely than we ever knew, introducing new complexity to health systems around the world. The harmful effects of climate change on efforts to eliminate malaria have been evident for years. Rising temperatures, changing rainfall patterns and extreme weather events complicate efforts to control the disease, and put many millions more at risk of illness and death.

Be a PHA member will strengthen the University’s sustainability actions and Agenda 2030 support by engaging our work, studies, or community in PHA initiatives and other Planetary Health efforts.
