IYAFP Name is committed to collaborating with PHA to advance Planetary Health through youth-led advocacy and programming.

Capacity Building: IYAFP will enhance the capacity of young human rights defenders to effectively advocate for policies and programs that prioritize Planetary Health.
Program Integration: IYAFP will incorporate the Planetary Health concept into its existing programming and initiatives.

Internews is a media support nonprofit working in 100+ countries. Our mission is to ensure that everyone has trustworthy information to make informed decisions. We build the capacity of journalists to make planetary health science understandable and relatable to audiences. Engaging with scientists, governments, under-served communities and civil society actors, we strive to offer information solutions to planetary health challenges, promote science-based conversations and hold power to account.

We catalyse change on the ground – in partner districts in our eight focus countries. We bring lessons learned to national capitals and global organisations, networks and decision-makers. We ensure that those lessons positively impact the strategies, investments and development of resilient systems in water, sanitation and hygiene systems.

Irish Doctors for the Environment (IDE) is a group of enthusiastic clinicians in Ireland who have come together to raise awareness, change policy, and educate the public on issues of Planetary Health. Our aim and vision at IDE is to develop a broad bank of resources on the relationship of environment health and human health, along with a monthly newsletter for members of the public and clinicians. We seek to become a cornerstone for networks and collaborations from all fields of Planetary Health within Ireland, and we call on clinicians to join us.

Throughout 2020, IMANA will roll out a comprehensive sustainability plan that dedicates resources towards reducing our carbon footprint. Our commitment to greening the entire organization includes shifting to more energy efficient building operations at our office headquarters, offsetting international flights for Islamic Medical Relief missions by planting trees, and contracting with eco-conscious caterers for large events following the end of social distancing later on in 2020, insha’Allah.We call on government, business, and civil society leaders and candidates for elected office to recognize climate change as a health emergency and to prioritize the actions in this Climate, Health and Equity Policy Action Agenda.

The Italian Association of Lifestyle Medicine – ILAM is a non governmental, non-profit, independent scientific organization led by physicians, health professionals and other social agents to advance evidence-based lifestyle medicine as the fundamental approach to assist individuals and communities in modifying behaviors to promote physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being, as well as Planetary Health. Our mission is to present the evidence that the dietary pattern that best preserves both human and Planetary Health is based on minimally processed, whole plant foods grown using sustainable and restorative agricultural practices. The ILAM also seeks to provide educational opportunities for those who want to restore human and Planetary Health, create resilient, healthy communities and help transform current policy that favors high cost medical care, industrial agricultural and food production systems over people and the environment.

Italian Climate Network (ICN), an Italian non-profit organisation dedicated to addressing the climate crisis in the Italian context through education, awareness and advocacy activities. The field of Planetary Health is still poorly known among the Italian general public, which is something we want to address through the collaboration with the PHA. Through the projects and activities of our Climate and Health section, we will endorse Planetary Health through awareness campaigns targeting the general public (talks, social media) and educational activities in schools.
We are enthusiastic to get to know the international community of the PHA for networking, inspiration, sharing of resources that can be readapted to the Italian context, and contribution to joint efforts of the alliance.

Italian Institute for Planetary Health or IIPH is an institute with an international scope that aims to safeguard human health while also keeping our planet in good health.

The Institute aims to quickly become a national and international reference center in the field of Planetary Health for research and training. Particular attention is paid to two main issues: the relationship between healthiness and sustainability of food and the effects of climate change on human health.

Through its work, Jhpiego, a Johns Hopkins University affiliate, has considered the impact of climate in its calculus of lifesaving interventions, including investing in community health workers, championing strengthened primary health care systems, and using new service delivery models, technology, and early surveillance and detection programs in its health care projects around the world. Our association with PHA will allow us to strengthen our approaches, deepen our impact and make a meaningful difference to the lives of mothers and babies.

The JHU-UPF Public Policy Center aims to provide critical knowledge on the most significant planetary problems and their systemic-historical causes, and help inform political decisions and policy interventions that are effective, equitable and truly sustainable. We are committed to promoting Planetary Health through delivering transdisciplinary research, education and knowledge dissemination activities that respond to the ecosocial crises that humanity is currently facing.

JSI / JSI R&T has worked at the intersections of environmental health, population/reproductive health, water and sanitation and healthy communities throughout its 40-year history and we are dedicated to realizing the most effective programming by bringing in the knowledge and experience of peer organizations working in academia, research, policy and implementation. JSI contributes to the Planetary Health Alliance by connecting academics and researchers with field-based programs working in a variety of areas, including nutrition, global food security, a wide range of global health issues (family planning/reproductive health, infectious diseases, nutrition, WASH, among others).

The Johns Hopkins Institute for Planetary Health (JHIPH) was founded in 2024 to harness powerful cross-disciplinary expertise to confront pressing global challenges. The mission of JHIPH is to catalyze scholarship and practice of Planetary Health across the University, bring together a cohesive community of practice, and establish Johns Hopkins University (JHU) as a global leader in addressing the global health and humanitarian dimensions of the Earth crisis. PHA is a liaison between JHIPH and the global Planetary Health community, sharing information both ways. Planetary Health scholarship and informed policy and practice case studies move from JHIPH out to the global community, while real world challenges and success stories flow back to JHIPH. Both are critical to advancing the field and social movement of Planetary Health. PHA’s Secretariat is based at the Hopkins Bloomberg Center in Washington DC.

The Indigenous Determinants of Health Alliance (IDHA) is an Indigenous Peoples Organization devoted to advocating for and fostering culturally safe systemic change globally through the adoption of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues’ Indigenous Determinants of Health (IDH) Framework. IDHA’s work is intrinsically committed to Planetary Health, and the sustainable use of biological diversity across the multiple aspects comprised in the conceptualization of Indigenous health: an equilibrium of spirituality, traditional medicine, biodiversity, and the interconnectedness of all that exists. The IDHA conducts research, technical assistance, and advocacy activities to incorporate structural and systemic changes for Indigenous Peoples to be equitably served, their knowledge and practices, and rights to be respected, and to ensure sustainability for the planet’s health and wellness.

Indigenous Health Solutions is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Planetary Health Alliance to integrate Planetary Health principles into our inclusive development work. By joining the Planetary Health Alliance, we seek to promote a contextual and holistic approach to health that sees humans within the planetary systems that sustain us, aligning our work in health, education, livelihoods, and conservation. This collaboration will enable us to work towards equity by addressing complex development challenges facing people living in remote, pristine forests through a systems approach. We are committed to contributing to the growing global movement for Planetary Health, and we look forward to sharing and learning from partners to improve Planetary Health-informed development practices.

The Unit of innovation in sustainable development, health and global justice through service-learning is commited to collaborate with the PHA in different areas linked to planetary health, providing data, diseminating the organization and developing projects.

The Institut Pasteur is a private, non-profit foundation with recognized charitable status entrusted with four core missions of public interest – research, education, the health of populations and people, and innovation development and technology transfer.

Institute Bon Pasteur aims to improve public health by increasing resilience of our environment and socio-economic systems, strategically applying innovative eco-technological solutions and advancing education efforts. As a member of the Planetary Health Alliance, IBP engages local communities and pursues on-the-ground solutions to work towards a healthier population and environment.

The Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS) Universiti Malaya will be able to commit our effort to understanding and addressing global environmental change and its health impact, subject to availability of time and resources. In keeping with the function of IAS to offer multidisciplinary programmes and niche area programmes, it is the intent of IAS to support the dissemination of new research and development of educational materials on Planetary Health; through collaborating and committing resources not only to the alliance members, but also to other interested and qualified parties for academic and research purposes.

Located in Canada’s north, the Institute for Circumpolar Health Research (ICHR) is an independent research organization devoted to health research relevant to the circumpolar regions and their people.
