The Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) is a public health research institution that focuses on economic development, environmental change, and community health. Our studies aim to identify how economic development induces changes in social determinants and health outcomes and directly involve the local communities affected by industrial activities, climate change, and other environmental factors.

The Plenitud Foundation is a think and action center located in the Dominican Republic, with the vision of contributing to the construction of an equitable and sustainable world. We carry out applied research, training and dissemination of knowledge. Our main areas of work are the environment, climate change, mainly vulnerability and adaptation assessments, as well as global health, particularly health systems and financing – contributing to policy making in the country. We are launching a virtual platform for the management and dissemination of knowledge on Planetary Health, to help raise awareness on the subject and suggest ways of action for people and communities. We are members of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), we are observers of the UNFCCC, we belong by law to the citizen oversight (VEICEA) for the implementation of the Law 94-20 of Environmental Education and Communication of the Dominican Republic and members of the National Board of Local Planning of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development (MEPYD). Climate resilience and sustainable health systems workgroup from Health System’s Global (HGS) and participated in several international conferences. We are also members of the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research (AHPSR) and the Latin-American chapter of the initiative Systems Thinking Accelerator (SYSTAC) – among others. We are interested in participating and contributing to the initiatives of the Alliance for Planetary Health.

The Gaples Institute offers programs that educate health professionals and the public about food choices that enhance both personal and Planetary Health. The George Institute for Global Health is a leading independent global medical research institute with a mission is to improve the health of millions of people worldwide, particularly those living in disadvantaged circumstances, by challenging the status quo and using innovative approaches to prevent and treat non-communicable diseases and injury.

Aligned with The George Institute’s commitment to improving the health of millions of people worldwide, a Planetary Health lens has increasingly become embedded in our research and advocacy. Our Planetary Health Working Group, conducts research, build collaborations and conduct advocacy activities that build momentum towards a more sustainable future. We consider Planetary Health intergenerationally and from the perspective of both high-income countries and low- and middle-income countries – as a global organisation, we strive to engage multiple disciplines and voices and collaborate across disciplines and national boundaries to better understand and act on planetary health issues as it is presented in our long-term Planetary Health Research Strategy.

Through fostering a culture of sustainability and advocacy, we translate our knowledge into action, aiming to innovate for a healthier world.

The Dutch Green Health Alliance (Groene Zorg Alliantie) is a national network of bottom-up healthcare initiatives that strives for sustainable healthcare and Planetary Health. We connect organisations and individuals both within and outside of our network to inspire, raise awareness, and share ideas for a transition in healthcare delivery and society in line with Planetary Health. We organise online get-togethers, masterclasses, and an annual festival; and have advocacy-related activities, both formal (e.g. politics and healthcare organisations) and informal (e.g. keynotes, social media, and protests). We look forward to collaborate and share with other members of the PHA, especially those geared towards ‘Planetary Health in all policies’-initiatives.

The East-West Center incorporates Planetary Health into its research and training activities including YSEALI Academic Fellowship on Environmental Issues, EWC Innovation for Sustainable Development Fellowship, and EWC Ocean Corps for early career ocean researchers. We aspire to connect our 200+ staff and 65,000 alumni organized in 50 chapters across the Indo-Pacific and the Americas to opportunities of the Planetary Health Alliance with particular focus on the Next Generation Network.

Through our four branches (climate change, sustainability, planetary health, and integral ecology) we are driving meaningful progress towards achieving public and private sector climate goals. Our interdisciplinary approach and talented team with in-depth knowledge are focused on finding solutions and developing opportunities in social and environmental indicators, sound governance, social responsibility, and digitalization. Building on over 45+ years of groundbreaking science, EcoHealth Alliance is a global environmental health nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting wildlife and public health from the emergence of disease.

Our focus and mission is to “help youth fight climate anxiety.” We have an online platform (Mother Earth’s Pursuit) that uses AI to empower young people to A) discover global solutions that are addressing the climate crisis from government, community, and private sector organizations and B) inspire and empower young people to discover good news stories, job opportunities, and ways that they can personally engage in climate changing/game changing activities that will help them to be more positive and less anxious about their future on planet earth. We would like to collaborate with other PHA Members who share our passion.

ECU and partner organisations are working to address a range of issues relating to regenerative farming practices for a sustainable food system and improved health outcomes, focusing on mapping existing efforts, identifying food system strengths, and identifying gaps and inefficiencies as a pathway for improvement. ECU also collaborates with the broader Oceania region in understanding and urgently responding to health impacts resulting from environmental degradation and climate change in the region, advances child education, and embeds the Sustainable Development Goals and Planetary Health into higher degree curricula.

The primary goals of the Emory Global Health Institute are to: develop a strong academic infrastructure in global health at Emory University, develop and nurture global health partnerships, foster global health research and scholarship, and help train the next generation of global health leaders.

Our organization will promote activities of Planetary Health in Kenya through conducting studies, implementing health projects and participating in networks. This collaboration will also involve participating in meetings and forums.

Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Victoria champions a healthy environment that supports a liveable and prosperous Victoria now and always. EPA Victoria protects the environment and people by preventing and reducing harm from pollution and waste. EPA is committed to collaborating with the Planetary Health Alliance to contribute to and draw upon research, knowledge and capability from across industry, government and non-government, academia and community to deliver in its role as a world-class regulator of pollution and waste.

The Environmental Physiotherapy Association (EPA) is seeking to embed Planetary Health in physiotherapy research, education and practice through a wide variety of international projects. All of these projects also aim to further the knowledge-based and implementation of Planetary Health in different ways by drawing on and expanding the distinct contributions that the physiotherapy profession can make to this field. Our biggest project to date, the EPT Agenda 2023, is introducing Planetary Health education to physiotherapy institutions around the world. We frequently direct participating institutions to the educational materials and networks of the PHA. Members of the EPA regularly attend C4PH calls, interact on social media, and are keen to attend and contribute to future PHAMs.

Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management (ESHPM) is a leader in education and research in the field of health policy and management in the Netherlands and far beyond. ESHPM is currently including Planetary Health as a core value, by recently appointing a theme chair in this field (first in Europe) and as a relevant discipline to be included in its masters’ education and research activities, in line with the mission of implementing and supporting environmental sustainability of the Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam
