Strengthening Planetary Health in Asia



PHA’s trips to Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia reveal growing momentum for Planetary Health leadership in Asia.


A transformative wave of Planetary Health leadership is building across the regions of East and Southeast Asia. From November 6 to 20, 2024, representatives from the Planetary Health Alliance and the Johns Hopkins Institute for Planetary Health journeyed across Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia, uncovering an unprecedented momentum in regional engagement. From productive meetings with Japan’s Ministries of Health and Environment to a keynote address at the World Health City Forum in South Korea, from innovative urban sustainability discussions in Singapore to Malaysia’s groundbreaking National Planetary Health Action Plan, the region is showing admirable commitment to addressing Earth’s interconnected challenges.
