
Emin is a current sophomore at Johns Hopkins University who has been active in the United Nations system on youth and planetary health-related topics since early high school. In addition to holding roles within the UN system (including currently as a board member of UNEP’s Faith for Earth Youth Council), he has coordinated the organization of and moderated several ministerial-level events that include a UN HLPF Training Session on planetary health education and a UN General Assembly TES side event on integrating planetary health into education system around the world. Formerly serving as an assistant to the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Emin served an active role in bringing planetary health to the Ministry’s agenda. For the past year, Emin has been mentoring and working with a group of young women leaders in creating an initiative called Young Women Leaders for Planetary Health (YWLPH) that is currently working with youth from over ten different countries and focuses on promoting informal and nonformal planetary health education methods in middle and high schools. He is a grantee of The WHO-backed Global Youth Mobilization Fund and is a Woodrow Wilson fellow at Hopkins.
