James Chrispin is a Tanzanian medical doctor and implementation science researcher, currently practicing at the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI). His work and interests sit at the intersection of planetary health, health systems strengthening, healthcare innovation, outbreak preparedness and response, and the impacts of climate change on non-communicable diseases and cardiovascular health.
James serves as the Eastern Zone Coordinator of the Medical Association of Tanzania, contributing to health professional leadership, policy engagement, and health system improvement. He is the founder of the Planetary Health Club at the Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS). He previously served as a Planetary Health Alliance Campus Ambassador in 2023 and has continued to advocate for meaningful youth engagement in planetary health.
James is passionate about translating planetary health knowledge into action. He believes that meaningful change does not require waiting for the perfect moment or position, it begins with willingness to act, collaborate and inspire others.
