Marta Pahissa is an environmental scientist with more than 20 years of experience connecting sustainability, health and organisational change. She directs the Secretariat of the Planetary Health Alliance Europe Regional Hub, hosted by ISGlobal, supporting collaboration across research, healthcare, education, policy and civil society to advance planetary health in Europe.
Previously, she served as Director of Terra Foundation before moving to DKV, part of the ERGO Insurance Group, where she led environmental transformation. She subsequently directed the Centre for Planetary Health Development, a joint initiative of ISGlobal and Fundació Sanitària Mollet, before taking up her current role at ISGlobal.
Her work reflects cross-sectoral leadership, connecting environmental expertise, healthcare and innovation. She has developed initiatives that integrate environmental sustainability with health promotion, including green insurance services, nature prescription platforms and community-based environmental health programmes. Her approach combines scientific understanding, strategic communication and service innovation to integrate planetary health into decisions and everyday practice.
She holds a BSc in Environmental Sciences, an MSc in Scientific Communication and an MSc in Environmental Sustainability, complemented by executive education at ESADE and the Yale School of Management.
