PHA Communications Associate
The Planetary Health Alliance is seeking a Communications Associate to develop creative content, curate resources, and tell the Planetary Health story to global audiences. This role sits within a fast-paced, transdisciplinary team spanning geographies and sectors and also works closely with the communications team at the affiliated Johns Hopkins Institute for Planetary Health. This is a hybrid position based in Washington, DC.

The Planetary Health Alliance (PHA) is the leading organization at the forefront of Planetary Health, a new, rapidly growing global field focused on the human health impacts of our disruption and the transformation of Earth’s natural systems. PHA is a global consortium of over 600 institutions in 80+ countries with a focus on rapidly expanding our understanding of, and ability to address, these threats. This is a hybrid position based in Washington, DC, USA.
PHA Communications Associate Role
The Planetary Health Alliance is seeking a Communications Associate to develop creative content, curate resources, and tell the Planetary Health story to global audiences. Join our team and you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Tell stories from our partners, members, and NextGen network
- Create engaging social media and newsletter content
- Partner with global leaders in research, health, and environment
- Work across two collaborative teams
- Advance Planetary Health education, research, media, and movement building through strategic communications

- Develop and manage PHA’s social media presence across platforms including LinkedIn and Instagram, including content creation, scheduling, monitoring, and engagement
- Write, edit, and distribute PHA’s newsletters and other communications, ensuring content is timely, on-brand, and tailored to global audiences
- Manage and maintain PHA’s contact database in HubSpot, including list segmentation, data hygiene, and outreach tracking
- Participate on behalf of PHA in global communications partnerships and collaborations as appropriate
