Policies
PHA Main Logo Usage Policy
The Planetary Health Alliance (PHA) main logo is a valuable asset that represents our organization’s identity and mission. To maintain the integrity and consistency of our brand, we have established the following guidelines for the use of the PHA main logo:
- Permission is not required to use the PHA main logo when providing information about PHA as an organization, such as in presentations or materials that aim to raise awareness about PHA and its mission, or if materials reference PHA as an organization to contact for further information. However, the use of the logo should align with PHA’s principles, values, and community standards. The Statement About Represented Views should appear with this content. Current PHA logo files may be requested by contacting us.
- The PHA main logo–not other logo types–should be used on content produced, commissioned, or explicitly approved by the PHA Global Secretariat.
- PHA logos may not be altered, modified, or distorted in any way. They must be used in accordance with the official brand guidelines, which specify the appropriate colors, dimensions, and clear space requirements. A copy of current brand guidelines, as they pertain to logo usage, may be requested by contacting us.
- If the PHA Global Secretariat becomes aware of any misuse of its logos or any use in association with content that violates our community standards, PHA reserves the right to request the immediate removal of the logo.
Statement About Represented Views
Materials* that bear the Planetary Health Alliance logo or that identify the author as being affiliated with PHA, which were not produced or explicitly approved by the PHA Global Secretariat, must include the following sentence:
“The views, opinions, and information expressed in this [material/document/publication] are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent the official policy, position, or views of the Planetary Health Alliance.”
This statement should be clearly visible on websites, publications, presentations, and other relevant materials to ensure transparency and avoid confusion regarding the source and endorsement of the content.
*Materials may include but are not limited to presentations, videos, posters, reports, briefs, and websites.
Sub-Brand Logo Usage Policy
PHA sub-brand logos, such as those for Regional Hubs or specific initiatives like C4PH, are designed to identify organizational units that are related to but distinct from the PHA parent brand. The following guidelines apply to the use of PHA sub-brand logos:
- Sub-brand logos should be used on content produced by or resulting from the work of the specific group or initiative, as well as on materials promoting events, activities, and opportunities directly related to the sub-brand.
- Each sub-brand group or initiative should develop its own internal approval process for determining which products or materials should bear the sub-brand logo.
- Sub-brand logos should be used in accordance with the official brand guidelines, which specify the appropriate colors, dimensions, and clear space requirements. Logo files and/or a copy of the brand guidelines, as they pertain to logo usage, may be requested at any time by contacting us.
- If the PHA Global Secretariat becomes aware of any misuse of a sub-brand logo or its use in association with content that violates our community standards, PHA reserves the right to require the removal of the logo and, in extreme cases, revoke the group or initiative’s permission to use the sub-brand logo.
Member / Affiliate Logo Usage Policy
PHA may offer special logos for its members and Campus Ambassadors to showcase their affiliation with the organization. These logos, such as “Member of the Planetary Health Alliance” or “Planetary Health Campus Ambassador,” are designed to recognize the commitment and dedication of individuals and organizations to the field of Planetary Health. The following guidelines apply to the use of these logos:
- The “Member of the Planetary Health Alliance” logo may be used by current individual or organizational members of PHA to signify their membership status. The logo can be displayed on personal or organizational websites, social media profiles, email signatures, and other promotional materials related to the member’s involvement in Planetary Health.
- The “Planetary Health Campus Ambassador” logo may be used by currently appointed Campus Ambassadors to identify their role and affiliation with PHA. The logo can be used on campus-related materials, such as event promotions, presentations, and educational resources related to Planetary Health. Former Planetary Health Campus Ambassadors should not use the logo but may instead describe themselves as a “former Planetary Health Campus Ambassador” or “Planetary Health Campus Ambassador, <years active>.”
- Affiliates should use the provided logo files without altering, modifying, or distorting them in any way. The logos should be used in accordance with the official brand guidelines, which specify the appropriate colors, dimensions, and clear space requirements. Logo files and/or a copy of the brand guidelines, as they pertain to logo usage, may be requested at any time by contacting us.
- The use of the affiliate logo does not imply PHA’s endorsement of the content or views expressed in the materials bearing the logo. When using these logos on materials that express opinions, findings, or conclusions, affiliates should include a disclaimer stating: “The views and opinions expressed in this [material/document/publication] are those of the [member/author/organization] and do not necessarily represent the official policy, position, or views of the Planetary Health Alliance.”
- Affiliates should not use the logos in any way that could be misleading, deceptive, or harmful to the reputation of PHA. If the PHA Global Secretariat becomes aware of any misuse of the logos or their use in association with content that violates our community standards, PHA reserves the right to request the removal of the logo and, in extreme cases, revoke the individual’s or organization’s permission to use the logo.
- The permissions to use the logos are contingent upon the individual’s or organization’s ongoing membership or appointment status. If an affiliate loses their status due to resignation, termination, or any other reason, they must immediately cease using the respective logo.
