Laetania Belai Djandam, an Indigenous youth of Dayak Ngaju and Dayak Ma’anyan descent, climate activist, and planetary health practitioner, shares a powerful message on the deep connection between Indigenous Peoples, land, and health. She narrates a Dayak song about planetary health and plays the traditional Sapek instrument. Through music and storytelling, she calls for a radical shift in how we define health—one that recognizes its deep ties to land, culture, and the well-being of our planet.

Meet Daniel Ryan Sanchez, a youth and student leader and volunteer from Santa Rosa, Philippines. As an SDG-4 advocate he leads the grassroots group Hope Builders Dream Tracers and runs a weekly “Lakbay Tahanan” house-to-house reading and feeding program for children. In this video Daniel explains how storms and flooding (like Typhoon Paeng) disrupted their work and the children’s education, and why relief is only a small part of long-term flood risk management. Dr. Daniela Lempertz is a child and adolescent psychotherapist who provided first-response and follow-up care for people affected by posttraumatic stress symptoms in the aftermath of the Ahr Valley flood in Western Germany 2021. She talks about her therapeutic work with children, helpful resources and international cooperation for rapid psychological support after extreme weather events, and finally shares advice she gave to an 8-year old boy anxious about converging global crises.

Farah Waseem is a medical intern and a climate activist based in Lahore, Pakistan. She started her journey in climate activism at a tender age of 11 with the World Wildlife Fund – Pakistan. In her lived experience, she talks about her first-hand experience as a medical intern treating patients who are affected by climate disasters and discusses the need for integration of planetary health in medical / health professionals’ curricula.
