We are building an MSc education in Planetary Health Sciences. We do research focused on biodiversity, sustainability, historical disease development, vector-borne diseases and their interactions with biodiversity and global change.

ALTEREDU advances Planetary Health by connecting education, research, community wellbeing and sustainability through participatory, nature-based learning and innovative approaches to planetary wellbeing. We aim to empower individuals and organizations to embrace a holistic understanding of the interdependence between human wellbeing and the health of our planet. Through the Planetary Health Alliance, we seek to co-create interdisciplinary, action-driven initiatives, exchange innovative practices and build international partnerships that accelerate meaningful change. We are particularly committed to contributing Central and Eastern European perspectives and translating global Planetary Health knowledge into practical, community-based solutions.

Physicians for Climate Finland integrates Planetary Health into its work by highlighting the fundamental connections between climate change, environmental sustainability, and human health, and by supporting healthcare professionals in addressing these interconnected challenges. We promote awareness, education, and evidence-based action within the medical community to strengthen climate-resilient and environmentally sustainable healthcare in Finland. Through the Planetary Health Alliance, we seek to collaborate with international partners by sharing knowledge and experiences, supporting interdisciplinary dialogue, and contributing the perspectives of Finnish healthcare professionals to the global Planetary Health community. We look forward to learning from fellow members and working collectively towards a healthier, more resilient, and sustainable future for people and the planet.

The Planetary Resilience Institute is guided by “One Life, One Planet, Shared Resilience”: the conviction that the well-being of people, societies, and all other life is inseparable. We incorporate Planetary Health into our research, advisory work, advocacy, and education by connecting ecological integrity, social equity, and systemic resilience across species and generations. Through the Planetary Health Alliance, we aim to share assessment methods, develop joint research and training, and work with fellow members to translate knowledge into locally relevant actions. We welcome collaboration that advances shared well-being while ensuring that solutions are complexity-informed, systemic, and do not shift harm onto other communities, ecosystems, or future generations.

ICLEI advances a Planetary Health approach by supporting cities and regions as key actors in creating healthier, more biodiverse, and more resilient places for people and the planet. Building on its commitment to long-term sustainable development, we embed the interconnections between human, animal, plant, and ecosystem health into inclusive urban policy, planning, and design. This includes supporting cities and regions to promote biodiversity and nature-based solutions, reduce emissions through climate action, resilience and climate adaptation, and sustainable food systems. In collaboration with the Planetary Health community, ICLEI aims to co-develop practical solutions that support Planetary Health and generate evidence and capacity for implementation across sectors and governmental levels.

The International Society of Doctors for the Environment (ISDE) works to protect human health by addressing environmental threats through science, education and advocacy. Through its network of national organizations and health professionals, ISDE brings environmental and planetary health into public health practice, primary care and community action. As a member of the Planetary Health Alliance, we hope to exchange knowledge and experience across regions, develop educational opportunities and collaborate on initiatives addressing climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss and health inequities. We look forward to contributing the perspectives of frontline health professionals to the Alliance’s shared work.

Planetary Health at McMaster – Statement of Collaboration

The Planetary Health Initiative at McMaster University is an institution-wide, cross-faculty effort that addresses global environmental change through systems-level research, education, and campus operational action. We advance the field through our targeted research seed grants, the development of multidisciplinary programs, and international convenings. Within the Planetary Health Alliance, we look to engage partners at the regional, provincial, and national level in Canada, as well as internationally. Together we want to bring a broader perspective in the discussion that considers how systemic factors in diverse communities nationally and internationally contribute to unequal environmental and climate impacts. We look forward to active engagement in the North America Regional Hub and the Education Working Group. We warmly invite PHA members to collaborate on joint research proposals, co-host conference sessions, and partner on solutions at the intersection of clean energy, ecosystem resilience, and community well-being.

The Centre for Medical Ethics and Law (CMEL) at The University of Hong Kong incorporates Planetary Health by treating climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution as core ethical and legal determinants of health, and by embedding that framing in research, public health law teaching, and professional education across Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. Our work develops Planetary Health law and governance, including the right to a healthy planet, a planetary right to health, rights of Nature, digital Planetary Health ethics, and Confucian anthropocosmic resources for practice in East Asia. We aim to collaborate with the Planetary Health Alliance by contributing this legal and ethical capacity to education, Regional Hub, and governance initiatives, while testing our ideas against the clinical, community, and policy experience of other members. In return, we seek partners, amplification, and two-way exchange so that Greater Bay Area climate-health realities and East Asian legal thought inform the global community, and so that Alliance frameworks strengthen our teaching, professional forums, and work with HKU’s Institute for Climate and Carbon Neutrality. Formal collaboration will make Planetary Health a shared institutional commitment rather than a side interest, and will help place law and ethics among the instruments of the Great Transition.

INFTA advances Planetary Health by strengthening the relationship between human wellbeing and ecological wellbeing through evidence‑based Forest Therapy. Our programs, training, and research embed ecological literacy, climate resilience, and biodiversity awareness, and our governance now includes a dedicated Nature on the Board representative to ensure ecological priorities inform strategic decisions. INFTA’s collaboration with Deakin University on the world’s first campus‑based Forest Therapy trail — featured by the Planetary Health Alliance — demonstrates how nature‑based wellbeing can support both mental health and planetary stewardship.

As a PHA member, INFTA aims to contribute Forest Therapy expertise to global research and policy, collaborate on cross‑sector initiatives linking mental health and ecosystem restoration, and participate in shared workforce‑development efforts.

INFTA is committed to working alongside PHA staff and members to advance scalable, nature‑based solutions that restore the health of people and the living world.

Honeybee Population Healthcare Foundation is a Section 8 not for profit company in India working to reduce premature mortality attributable to governance, healthcare, equity and social determinants. We treat Planetary Health as a governance problem before a measurement one, and our work builds district owned digital public infrastructure on which people, premises, livestock, crops, forest compartments and water bodies are held as a single verified denominator, against which population, One Health, environmental, public health and health security intelligence run together. Our current programme proposes the first Planetary Health demonstration written into an Indian district, developed with the Government of Maharashtra and designed for replication to every village and urban ward of the State, anchored in a published district measurement of eight percent concordance between surveillance and facility records. We will contribute a replication blueprint, domain configuration recipes with measured cost, consent and verification methods, and governance rules under which the government owns the platform and the party that builds a system never verifies its own indicators, published together with our unflattering results. We seek collaboration with Alliance members on evaluation methods that read values from a register rather than expert ratings, on comparable measurement across settings, and with those working where zoonotic spillover, land use change and Indigenous governance intersect.

International Child Nutrition Japan (ICNJ) advances Planetary Health by connecting school meals and food and nutrition education with children’s health, sustainable food systems, and everyday behavior. Building on Japan’s experience in school meals and Shokuiku and our collaborative activities in Asia, we aim to develop and evaluate culturally grounded approaches that translate Planetary Health knowledge into practical action through schools and communities. We also seek to engage the private sector through the Japan Alliance for Health and Education (JAHE), a network of approximately 20 companies committed to advancing health and education, and to explore how businesses can contribute to Planetary Health. Through the Planetary Health Alliance, ICNJ looks forward to collaborating with researchers, educators, policymakers, civil society, and private-sector partners to generate evidence, develop practical models, and share learning across countries.

Lusaka Apex Medical University (LAMU) is committed to advancing Planetary Health through interdisciplinary health professions education, research, community engagement, and capacity strengthening that recognize the interconnectedness of human health and the natural systems on which it depends. Building on our strengths in medicine, public health, environmental health, nutrition, and other health sciences, we aim to more deliberately integrate Planetary Health principles into teaching, research, student engagement, and partnerships that respond to Zambia’s and Southern Africa’s evolving health and environmental challenges. Through the Planetary Health Alliance, LAMU looks forward to collaborating with institutions across the global community through knowledge exchange, joint research, education and training, policy engagement, and locally relevant action. We are particularly committed to strengthening regional collaboration and contributing Southern African perspectives, evidence, and experience to the global Planetary Health movement.
